DO YOU HAVE BAD CIRCULATION?
TIRED LEGS? GET YOUR BODY TO CIRCULATE
Varicose veins are dilated as a result of poor circulation due to malfunction of the internal valves of the veins. The venous return is not adequate and the blood accumulates. It is then termed chronic venous insufficiency.
The causes can be multiple: from hereditary predisposition to certain life habits, passing through certain situations such as pregnancy or obesity. The symptoms of venous insufficiency can be cramps in the legs, a feeling of “tingling”, swelling, heaviness of the legs and pain.
These symptoms are relieved by resting with the legs elevated and worsen when it is hot or the are exposed to a source of heat nearby; they also get worse by staying a long time standing or a lot of time sitting during the day.

MEASURES TO IMPROVE CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY

  • Avoid standing or sitting, for a long time, without changing position.
  • Avoid sources of direct heat: radiators, depilatory wax, hot baths
  • Fight obesity with a balanced diet.
  • Keep the skin hydrated and elastic to avoid the appearance of varicose veins complications.
  • Dress in comfortable clothes, wide and allowing adequate circulation of blood.
  • Avoid shoes and boots with excessively high heels, as well as garters and socks that compress.
  • Use elastic compression stockings; They contribute a great deal to relieving discomfort by exerting more compression on the ankle than on the thigh.
