PROBIDIET

The microorganisms that help balance your intestinal microbiota, improving your well-being

In us, and with us, live billions of microorganisms grouped in the different microbiota; the most important, due to its size and relevance, is the gut microbiota. The gut microbiota is a highly diverse ecosystem composed primarily of bacteria, but also viruses, fungi, protozoa, and archaea. There is no single healthy composition; we talk about balance between the different microorganisms in the microbiota, and the greater the diversity of microorganisms we have, the better we will respond to any setbacks that arise (infections, aggressive treatments, etc.).

The gut microbiota plays a fundamental role in health: it participates in immune function, acts as a defensive barrier alongside the intestinal epithelium, and has an important metabolic and nutritional role, as it ferments indigestible waste, completing the digestion of food.

The composition of the microbiota can be modified to restore the lost balance. Through:

  • Diet, the great modulator of the intestinal microbiota. It is recommended to increase the consumption of fiber-rich plant foods (fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc.), fermented foods (yogurt, kefir, etc.), and reduce processed foods.
  • It will be necessary to manage stress appropriately, lead an active lifestyle, get quality, restful sleep, and eliminate cellular toxins such as alcohol or tobacco.
  • And consume probiotics. This is an increasingly popular tool supported by many scientific studies.

Taking the probiotics we take in delayed-release gastro-resistant capsules ensures that they are protected from stomach acid and that they reach the colon alive, to colonize the existing microbiota and perform their functions.
